• American Red Cross – We are continuing to serve people who have experienced a home fire or other natural disasters and local Red Cross Disaster Responders still have 24-hour access the office for to obtain supplies, equipment, etc. to allow for service delivery. There is an URGENT call for blood donors to give! There is also an URGENT call for plasma donors from those who have had COVID-19 and have COMPLETELY recovered.   • The Arc of Wilson County – Bowling cancelled. They are hosting an “Alternative Taste of Wilson” click HERE for more information and to purchase your tickets! 
  • Diversified Opportunities – 65% of participants are currently back in person classes, socially distancing and wearing masks. The others are participating remotely, click HERE for future information.
  • Flynn Christian Fellowship Home – Working to alleviate the increasing number of men needing help due to COVID19 struggles. Click HERE to follow along for future info.
  • Girl Scouts NC Coastal Pines – All Girl Scout activities are cancelled for the foreseeable future. Cookies still available, email: jsmith@nccoastalpines.org for details.
  • Habitat For Humanity – Administrative office is open (M-F 9:00 – 5:00), but visitors are required to wear masks and keep social distance. ReStore is open at normal schedule (T-S 10:00 – 5:00) and masks are required for entry with social distancing enforced. Curbside pickup for phone purchases is available. Click HERE for updates.
  • Hope Station – The shelters have moved from overnight to 24-hours to give safe refuge for staying-at-home. Plans are underway to assist sheltered children who will need to start school online.  During the week of August 10th, the Food Pantry will start home-delivered groceries for pantry clients who are elderly or have disabling conditions. Click HERE for more info.
  • Mental Health America in Wilson Co. – is suspending its Alzheimer’s/Dementia Caregiver Support Group which meets at Spring Arbor Assisted Living on the third Tuesday of each month, until further notice. The new dementia caregiver support group that was scheduled to begin at Winstead United Methodist Church on Sundays has also been put on hold. 
  • OIC – OIC food distribution with free health screens scheduled for March 25th is cancelled. Follow along with the OIC for updates and information HERE
  • Partnership For Children – Wilson County – closed until further notice due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
  • P.A.L. – Suspending activities until further notice. Click HERE for more information.
  • Salvation Army – Call 252.243.2696 for inquiries, helping with food and clothing on a case by case basis. Helping with food, clothing, and utilities. Our hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 9:00am-11:00am and 1:00pm – 2:00pm.  We ask that clients make an appointment by calling. We also ask that everyone wear a mask and try to social distance.

  • Special Olympics – Special Olympics International (SOI) to suspend all sports training and competition for Special Olympics athletes through at least May, click HERE for more information.
  • The SPOT – The SPOT  started a new Remote Learning Program on August 17th. They are accepting new applicants for this program. They have stopped serving meals due to the Wilson Co. Schools request once school started back. The SPOT Natural Play Space is almost complete and will provide an open door Social Distance area for our Remote Learning Participants to get a little much needed exercise. Our remote Learning Center will partner with PEACE Church to improve our social distancing and over all safe services. The Spot ended with 224,472 meals served to the Wilson Community.   • Wesley Shelter – Wesley Shelter remains open to serve victims of domestic and sexual violence. Office is open and visitors are asked to wear masks as will staff. The 24 hour crisis line is available for after-hours. Advocacy, legal services, therapy still being provided. There are no classes, support groups or tours at this time. The safe house is able to provide emergency shelter with social distancing in the house and masks being worn by all. Due to distancing, the capacity at the house is reduced at this time. The Clothes Line is open as usual and donations are being accepted. 
  • Wilson Community Health Center – Please call ahead of time before seeing a doctor if you feel like you are showing symptoms of COVID-19. Please click HERE for more information.
  • Wilson Co. Office of Sr. Citizens Affairs -Operating with caution, email cc1125@cocentral.com for inquires. Ordering box meal packs per state recommendations. Continuing to serve and added a new route as well as giving pantry shelf staples to those served.
  • Wilson Co. Partnership for Children – Closed during COVID-19; however, we are working remotely from home and can be reached by voicemail and email that’s listed on our website (www.wilsonpfc.org).

  • Wilson Family YMCA– Operating with caution. Hosting classes outside and some programs inside when able to social distance. Click HERE for more details.
  • Y.O.U.T.H. of Wilson – Limited the staff:youth ratio for community service and the number of people in the buildings at any given time.  Volunteers and youth are back to seeing each other, with safety precautions.  Trainings are done virtually.  Hours of operation for the public: M-Th 9am – 3pm Fri 9am – 12pm.
